No grand promises: just a dark moon, a blank page and one intention worth carrying forward.
Why the new moon?
Modern esoteric practice often associates the new moon with beginnings, seeds and intentions. The astronomy and the symbolism are different things, but they can coexist: the lunar cycle gives a natural rhythm to a reflective practice.
One page, one intention
Take a blank page and write one thing you want to begin during the coming cycle. Keep it concrete enough to act on. 'Create more' becomes 'finish the first sketch'; 'find peace' becomes 'protect one evening each week from unnecessary work.'
A small ritual
Sit for a few minutes with the page. If you use a candle, place it in a stable holder and never leave it unattended. Read the intention once. Then write the smallest action that can be taken within the next twenty-four hours.
Return at the full moon
Keep the page. Around the full moon, return to it without judging yourself. What moved? What did not? The cycle becomes useful when it encourages observation rather than magical perfectionism.
